Dave Sharp (bass guitarist)
Dave Sharp (bass guitarist) is a British musician best known as the bass guitarist for the alternative rock band The Alarm.
Sharp joined The Alarm in 1981 and remained a core member throughout the band's initial run, contributing to their string of successful albums and singles in the 1980s, including "68 Guns," "Where Were You Hiding When The Storm Broke?," and "Rain in the Summertime." His bass lines were a signature element of the band's sound, often providing a melodic counterpoint to the band's anthemic guitars and Mike Peters' vocals.
Following The Alarm's original disbandment in 1991, Sharp continued to be involved in music, participating in various projects and collaborations. He was involved in reunions and incarnations of The Alarm. His contributions to the band's sound and legacy are widely recognized within the alternative rock scene.
He is sometimes credited as David Sharp.
