Cycling at the 2008 Summer Paralympics – Men's individual pursuit (CP 3)

The Men's individual pursuit CP 3 cycling event at the 2008 Summer Paralympics in Beijing was a track cycling competition for male athletes with cerebral palsy classified as CP 3. This classification was for cyclists with moderate locomotor dysfunction in one lower limb and/or mild locomotor dysfunction in both lower limbs, or moderate hemiplegia.

The individual pursuit is a timed race between two cyclists starting on opposite sides of the track. The cyclists race to either catch their opponent or record the fastest time over a set distance. In the CP 3 event, the distance was 3 km.

The competition typically began with a qualifying round. In this round, each cyclist rode individually against the clock. The fastest cyclists from the qualifying round advanced to the medal rounds.

The medal rounds involved head-to-head races. Cyclists were seeded based on their qualifying times. The fastest two cyclists from the qualifying round raced for the gold medal, while the next two fastest raced for the bronze medal.

The results of the event, including the names of the medalists and their times, were recorded and officially recognized by the International Paralympic Committee.
