Crucoli
Crucoli is a town and comune in the province of Crotone, in the Calabria region of southern Italy. It is located on the Ionian coast.
The town is known for its agricultural production, including olives and citrus fruits. It is also known for its traditional cuisine, particularly its salsiccia, a type of sausage flavored with fennel seeds and hot pepper. The salsiccia di Crucoli has a protected designation of origin (PDO) status.
The historical origins of Crucoli are linked to the ancient Greek colony of Krimisa, although the current town's development occurred primarily during the medieval period. Like other towns in the region, Crucoli has historically experienced periods of Saracen raids and has been under the control of various feudal lords.
The patron saint of Crucoli is San Domenico.
