Cogliate
Cogliate is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Monza and Brianza in the Italian region Lombardy, located about 20 kilometres (12 mi) north of Milan.
Geography:
Cogliate is situated in the Pianura Padana, the Po Valley, and its terrain is primarily flat. It is part of the Groane Park.
History:
The area has been inhabited since Roman times. In the Middle Ages, Cogliate was controlled by various noble families. It became part of the Duchy of Milan and later the Kingdom of Lombardy-Venetia under Austrian rule. With the unification of Italy in the 19th century, Cogliate became part of the Kingdom of Italy.
Economy:
The economy of Cogliate is based on small and medium-sized enterprises, primarily in the industrial and commercial sectors. Agriculture also plays a role, though to a lesser extent.
