Chris Smith (Florida politician)

Chris Smith is an American politician who has served in the Florida Legislature. He is a member of the Democratic Party.

Smith represented District 29 in the Florida House of Representatives from 2008 to 2016. Following redistricting, he successfully ran for the Florida Senate in 2016, representing District 31, which includes portions of Broward County. He served in the Florida Senate until 2022.

During his time in the Florida Legislature, Smith focused on issues such as criminal justice reform, affordable housing, and education. He held various leadership positions and served on numerous committees.

Smith is an attorney. He is a graduate of Florida State University and the University of Florida Levin College of Law.
