Yukulta
Yukulta, also known as Ganggalida, is an Australian Aboriginal language traditionally spoken by the Yukulta people of northwest Queensland, Australia. It belongs to the Pama-Nyungan language family. The traditional lands of the Yukulta people are located around the Nicholson River and the Gregory River, extending south to the vicinity of Riversleigh.
Yukulta is notable for its complex grammar and morphology, featuring agglutinative suffixes that express a wide range of grammatical relations. It is considered a highly endangered language, with very few fluent speakers remaining. Efforts are being made to revitalize and document the language through language programs, dictionaries, and other resources. The language name is sometimes also spelled as Yukulta, Jugula, or other variations reflecting different phonetic renderings.
