Cheltenham station (Metra)

Cheltenham station is a commuter railroad station in Chicago, Illinois, serving the Metra Electric District's main line. It is located at 79th Street and Cheltenham Place in the South Shore neighborhood.

The station consists of two side platforms serving the two tracks of the Metra Electric main line. A small, enclosed shelter is located on each platform. It provides basic protection from the weather.

Cheltenham is the northernmost Metra station in Chicago to be located at ground level. South of Cheltenham, the Metra Electric District line transitions to an elevated structure. The station primarily serves residents of the surrounding residential area. It provides convenient access to downtown Chicago and other stations along the Metra Electric line. Ridership at Cheltenham station is considered to be moderate.
