Charles F. West (politician)

Charles F. West (born January 29, 1895, died December 8, 1948) was an American politician from Ohio. He served as a U.S. Representative for Ohio's 14th congressional district from 1931 to 1939. A Democrat, West was born in Albion, Michigan and moved to Ohio with his parents in 1898. He attended Ohio Wesleyan University and later served in the United States Army during World War I.

After the war, West worked as an attorney in Ohio. He entered politics and was elected to Congress in 1930, during the Great Depression. He was re-elected three times before being defeated in 1938. While in Congress, West was known for his support of New Deal policies enacted by President Franklin D. Roosevelt. These policies aimed to provide relief, recovery, and reform to address the economic crisis.

Following his time in Congress, West continued to practice law and remained active in Democratic politics. He died in 1948 and is buried in Granville, Ohio.
