Central District (Tarom County)

The Central District (Persian: بخش مرکزی شهرستان تارم) is a district (bakhsh) in Tarom County, Zanjan Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 34,884, in 8,546 families. The District has one city: Ab Bar. It also contains two rural districts (dehestans): Dast Jerdeh Rural District and Gilvan Rural District. The Central District essentially comprises the core inhabited regions of Tarom County, encompassing the administrative center and the majority of its settled agricultural land. Its significance lies in its role as the economic and population hub of the county.
