Cedar Mountain (Wyoming)
Cedar Mountain is a low mountain located in Hot Springs County, Wyoming, situated approximately 25 miles northeast of Thermopolis. It is part of the Bighorn Basin region. Cedar Mountain is characterized by its arid climate and sparse vegetation, which includes juniper and sagebrush. Its geology is primarily sedimentary, with exposed layers of sandstone and shale.
The mountain is primarily used for livestock grazing and limited recreational activities such as hiking and hunting. It is not known for any major mineral resources or significant historical events. The area around Cedar Mountain is sparsely populated and largely rural. Access to the mountain is generally via unpaved roads.
