Cassiopée
Cassiopée (also sometimes spelled Cassiope) is the French spelling of the name of the constellation Cassiopeia. This prominent W-shaped asterism is located in the northern sky and is named after the vain queen Cassiopeia in Greek mythology. In astronomy, Cassiopeia is easily recognized due to its distinctive shape and proximity to the North Star, Polaris. It is a circumpolar constellation for many northern hemisphere observers, meaning it remains visible year-round. The constellation contains several notable deep-sky objects, including star clusters and nebulae. The French pronunciation is approximately "Kah-see-oh-pay."
