Brian Coburn (politician)

Brian Coburn was a Canadian politician who served as the mayor of Ottawa, Ontario from 1997 to 2000. Prior to becoming mayor, he was a regional councillor for the Regional Municipality of Ottawa-Carleton. Coburn's mayorship was marked by significant planning and development challenges as the city prepared for amalgamation. He advocated for fiscal responsibility and infrastructure improvements. He was defeated by Bob Chiarelli in the 2000 municipal election. Following his time as mayor, Coburn remained involved in community activities and served on various boards.
