Beyond the St. Leger, Boswell consistently performed well in other major staying races. While he didn't achieve Group 1 wins on a regular basis, he consistently placed highly in prestigious events throughout his career. He was regarded as a reliable and honest performer who always gave his best.
Boswell was retired from racing in 1988. Details of his career after racing are limited, but his impact on the staying race scene during the mid-1980s is well-documented in racing archives. His name is still occasionally mentioned in discussions of prominent St. Leger winners.
