Book of Love (2022 film)

Book of Love is a 2022 romantic comedy film directed by Analeine Cal y Mayor. The film stars Sam Claflin and Verónica Echegui.

The plot centers on Henry Copper, a British author whose debut novel is a critical failure in the United Kingdom, yet surprisingly becomes a massive success in Mexico. He is invited on a book tour in Mexico to promote the book, and discovers that the reason for its popularity is that Maria Rodriguez, the Spanish translator, has rewritten it as a steamy romance novel. Initially frustrated, Henry is forced to work with Maria on the tour, and they develop a complicated relationship amidst cultural clashes and creative differences.

The film explores themes of cultural differences, the impact of translation on artistic works, and the unexpected nature of love and success. It was released theatrically and on streaming platforms in February 2022.
