Black Island (film)
Black Island is a 2021 German thriller film directed by Miguel Alexandre. The film centers on Jonas Hansen, an orphaned teenager living with his grandparents in a small, isolated island community in the North Sea. Jonas forms a close and seemingly beneficial relationship with Helena Jung, his new German teacher, after she takes a special interest in his life and studies.
As Jonas becomes increasingly entangled with Helena, secrets and dark events from the island's past begin to resurface. He discovers that Helena's arrival is not coincidental and that she is deeply connected to a series of tragic occurrences that have plagued the island for years. The film explores themes of manipulation, revenge, and the destructive power of secrets within a close-knit community.
