Billy Baker (footballer, born 1920)

William "Billy" Baker (1920-1997) was an English professional footballer who played as a left-back.

Baker began his career with Wolverhampton Wanderers during the Second World War, featuring in wartime competitions. Following the war, he joined Walsall in 1946, where he became a mainstay in the team. Baker made over 200 league appearances for Walsall between 1946 and 1955. He was known for his consistent performances, solid tackling, and dependable presence in defense.

After leaving Walsall, Baker played non-league football for Bilston Town. He remained a well-respected figure in the Walsall football community after his retirement.
