Bill Wagner (baseball)
William "Bill" Wagner (born December 30, 1915, died February 10, 1989) was an American professional baseball pitcher. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Boston Red Sox (1946-1948) and the Philadelphia Phillies (1949). Wagner primarily pitched in relief but also started games on occasion. His career MLB record was 11 wins and 17 losses, with an earned run average (ERA) of 4.04. Wagner's playing career was interrupted by his service in the United States Army during World War II. After his baseball career, Wagner worked as a firefighter in Reading, Pennsylvania.
