Bessie Love (September 10, 1898 – April 26, 1986) was an American-born actress who achieved prominence primarily in silent films and later had a long career in British film, stage, and television.

Born Juanita Horton in Midland, Texas, Love began her career as a teenager after her family moved to Hollywood. She quickly found work as a dancer and extra, and soon transitioned to leading roles. Her early work was largely in light comedies and westerns, often showcasing her energetic and youthful persona.

Love became known for her roles in films such as The Aryan (1916), A Sister of Six (1916), and The King of the Cannibal Islands (1917). She was one of the original WAMPAS Baby Stars of 1922, a promotional campaign run by the Western Association of Motion Picture Advertisers in the United States, which honored promising young actresses.

With the advent of talkies, Love successfully transitioned to sound film, displaying her singing and dancing talents. A notable performance was in The Broadway Melody (1929), for which she received an Academy Award nomination for Best Actress.

In the mid-1930s, Love moved to England, where she continued to act on stage and in film. She became a familiar face in British cinema, appearing in supporting roles in numerous productions throughout her career. Her later film credits include The Story of Gilbert and Sullivan (1953), Touch and Go (1955), and Isadora (1968).
