Bertiolo
Bertiolo is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Udine in the Italian region Friuli-Venezia Giulia, located about 60 kilometres (37 mi) northwest of Trieste and about 20 kilometres (12 mi) southwest of Udine.
Bertiolo borders the following comuni: Codroipo, Lestizza, Mereto di Tomba, Rivignano Teor, Talmassons. Its economy is largely based on agriculture, particularly the production of wine grapes. Bertiolo is known for its association with Friulian wine production.
Historical records indicate settlement in the area dating back to Roman times. The modern municipality developed around a medieval castle and associated agricultural lands.
