Bayside (band)
Bayside is an American rock band from Queens, New York, formed in 2000. The band is primarily known for its melodic hardcore and alternative rock sound, often characterized by introspective lyrics and emotionally driven performances.
The original lineup consisted of Anthony Raneri (lead vocals, guitar), Jack O'Shea (lead guitar, backing vocals), Andrew Elderbaum (bass), and Gavin Miller (drums). The band's name is reportedly derived from Bayside, Queens, where they frequented.
Bayside gained prominence within the early 2000s emo and pop-punk scenes, releasing several EPs and studio albums, including "Sirens and Condolences" (2004), "Bayside" (2005), and "The Walking Wounded" (2007). The self-titled album is particularly notable for its raw and personal content, reflecting the band's experiences following a tragic van accident during a tour in 2005 that resulted in the death of their drummer, John Holohan, and serious injury to bassist, Anthony Trucillo (who had replaced Elderbaum).
The band has consistently toured and released albums throughout their career. Their discography includes albums such as "Killing Time" (2011), "Cult" (2014), "Vacancy" (2016), and "Interrobang" (2019). Their sound has evolved over time, incorporating elements of alternative rock and stadium rock while retaining the emotional core that resonated with their fanbase.
Bayside is recognized for their dedicated fanbase and their ability to connect with audiences through their songwriting and live performances. They have remained an active and influential band in the alternative rock scene for over two decades.
