Bang Pho

Bang Pho is a district (Khet) of Bangkok, Thailand. It is located in the northern part of the city, situated along the Chao Phraya River. Historically, Bang Pho was known for its timber industry, particularly teak, which was floated down the river. This led to the development of numerous sawmills and woodworking businesses in the area.

The district is bordered by Dusit District to the east, Bang Sue District to the north, and across the Chao Phraya River by Bang Phlat and Bangkok Noi Districts to the west.

Bang Pho is known for its furniture and handicrafts, a legacy of its timber industry past. It's also known as a transportation hub, with access to the river and roadways.

Administratively, Bang Pho is subdivided into sub-districts (Khwaeng).

While traditionally an industrial area, Bang Pho is undergoing redevelopment and experiencing changes in its demographics and economic activities.
