Ballynakill (Parliament of Ireland constituency)
Ballynakill was a constituency represented in the Irish House of Commons until the Act of Union 1800.
History
Ballynakill was a parliamentary borough in County Laois (Queen's County). It was enfranchised in 1613. In the Parliament of 1689 summoned by James II, Ballynakill was represented by two members. It returned two members to the Irish House of Commons until its abolition under the Act of Union 1800, at which time it received £15,000 compensation for the loss of its parliamentary representation.
