Andy Gray (footballer, born 1955)

Andrew Mullen Gray (born 30 November 1955) is a Scottish former football player and television pundit. As a player, Gray was a prolific striker, primarily known for his spells with Dundee United, Aston Villa, Wolverhampton Wanderers, and Everton.

Gray began his professional career with Dundee United in 1973, quickly establishing himself as a key player. His performances earned him a move to Aston Villa in 1975, where he won the First Division title in 1981. He later joined Wolverhampton Wanderers in 1979, enjoying a successful period before transferring to Everton in 1983. At Everton, he won the FA Cup in 1984 and the First Division title in 1985. Gray also played for West Bromwich Albion, Rangers, and finished his playing career with a return to Dundee United.

Internationally, Gray represented Scotland on 20 occasions, scoring 3 goals.

Following his retirement from playing, Gray transitioned into a career in broadcasting. He became a prominent football pundit, working for Sky Sports and later Al Jazeera and beIN Sports. He was known for his enthusiastic and often controversial commentary style. His broadcasting career ended following a sexism scandal.
