Fred Ward
Fred Ward (December 30, 1942 – May 8, 2022) was an American actor and producer, primarily known for his roles in action, drama, and comedy films. He frequently portrayed tough, working-class characters.
Ward's career spanned several decades, and he appeared in a wide variety of films including Southern Comfort (1981), The Right Stuff (1983), Silkwood (1983), Remo Williams: The Adventure Begins (1985), Tremors (1990), Henry & June (1990), Miami Blues (1990), The Player (1992), Short Cuts (1993), and Escape from Alcatraz (1979).
He also appeared in numerous television productions.
Ward received a Golden Globe Award and the Venice Film Festival Volpi Cup for Best Ensemble Cast for his work in Short Cuts. He was known for his versatile acting ability and his dedication to his craft.
