Alliance for Change (Venezuela)
The Alliance for Change (Alianza para el Cambio - APC) is a minor political party in Venezuela. It was founded in 2007 as a coalition to support the presidential candidacy of Manuel Rosales against Hugo Chávez.
Following the 2007 presidential election, the Alliance for Change continued as a distinct political entity. It generally positions itself as part of the opposition to the ruling United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), but it has sometimes taken a more conciliatory stance, leading to accusations of collaborationism from some sectors of the opposition.
The party's political influence is limited, and it typically garners a small percentage of votes in national and regional elections. It has sought to represent a moderate alternative within the broader opposition movement, focusing on issues such as economic reform and institutional strengthening. Its leadership and internal dynamics have been relatively stable compared to some other Venezuelan political parties. The party has participated in various electoral processes, though with limited success.
