Alexander McDonald (South Australian politician)

Alexander McDonald (1878 – 1949) was an Australian politician who served as a member of the South Australian House of Assembly for the seat of Murray from 1933 to 1938. He represented the Liberal and Country League (LCL).

Born in South Australia, McDonald was involved in farming before entering politics. His time in parliament was marked by contributions to debates on agricultural issues, particularly those affecting the Murray River region. He advocated for improved irrigation infrastructure and supported policies aimed at assisting primary producers.

McDonald lost his seat in the 1938 election. After his parliamentary career, he returned to farming. He died in 1949.
