Agharia
The Agharia are a Scheduled Caste community traditionally found in the state of Odisha, India. They are primarily associated with agriculture, particularly the cultivation of rice. The Agharia community historically faced social and economic marginalization. Their traditional occupation often involved working as agricultural laborers or tenant farmers. Efforts have been made by the Indian government to improve their socio-economic standing through reservation policies and other welfare programs aimed at Scheduled Castes. Further research is needed to fully understand their unique cultural practices, traditions, and contemporary social status.
