Ad Visser

Ad Visser (born Adrianus Visser, March 29, 1947, IJmuiden, Netherlands) is a Dutch media personality, best known as a television presenter, musician, and writer.

Visser rose to prominence in the 1970s as the host of TopPop, a popular Dutch music television show similar to Top of the Pops. His flamboyant presentation style, distinctive appearance (often sporting outlandish clothing and makeup), and insightful interviews with leading musicians made him a household name in the Netherlands. He presented TopPop from 1970 to 1985.

Beyond television, Visser also had a successful career as a musician, releasing several albums, often exploring experimental and electronic music styles. He formed the band Ad Visser & Daniel Sahuleka in the 1970s, and later pursued solo projects. His musical work frequently incorporated spoken word elements and conceptual themes.

Visser is also an author, having written several books, including novels and works on technology and society. He has remained active in the media landscape, appearing on television and radio programs, and participating in various cultural projects. He is known for his progressive views and his interest in technological advancements and their impact on human life.
