2016–17 FIS Cup (ski jumping)
The 2016–17 FIS Cup in ski jumping was the 12th season of the international ski jumping competition organized by the International Ski Federation (FIS). The season started on July 2, 2016, in Villach, Austria and concluded on March 12, 2017, in Trondheim, Norway.
The FIS Cup is a lower-level competition series compared to the World Cup, Continental Cup, and Grand Prix. It serves as a development platform for younger and less experienced ski jumpers, providing them with opportunities to gain international competition experience and earn FIS points, which are necessary for participating in higher-level events.
The season consisted of individual competitions held at various ski jumping hills across Europe. Points were awarded to the top-ranked finishers in each competition, and an overall ranking was compiled based on the total points earned throughout the season. Separate standings were maintained for men and women. The winners of the overall FIS Cup standings are typically seen as promising talents in the sport.
