Şah Sultan (daughter of Selim II)
Şah Sultan (1544 – 16 October 1580) was an Ottoman princess, the daughter of Sultan Selim II and Nurbanu Sultan. She was also the sister of Sultan Murad III.
Şah Sultan was a powerful and influential member of the Ottoman dynasty. She was known for her wealth and patronage of charitable works, including the construction of mosques, schools, and hospitals.

The marriage was politically advantageous for both parties, solidifying the power of the Ottoman dynasty and providing Hasan Pasha with increased influence at court. Hasan Pasha held several important positions within the Ottoman administration.
After Hasan Pasha's death, Şah Sultan married Damat Zal Mahmud Pasha in 1574. Zal Mahmud Pasha also served in high-ranking positions, including Grand Vizier.
Şah Sultan was buried in her own mausoleum in Eyüp, Istanbul, which she had commissioned herself. Her mausoleum is located near the Zal Mahmud Pasha Mosque. She left behind a significant legacy through her charitable endowments and her role as a prominent figure in the Ottoman court during the reigns of her father and brother.
