Đoàn Khuê

Đoàn Khuê (1923 – 1998) was a Vietnamese military officer and politician. He held the rank of General in the Vietnam People's Army (VPA) and served as Minister of National Defence of Vietnam from 1991 to 1997.

Đoàn Khuê played a significant role in the Vietnam War, rising through the ranks to become a key commander in the Southern liberation forces. Following the reunification of Vietnam in 1975, he continued his military career and became a prominent figure in the country's leadership. As Minister of National Defence, he oversaw significant changes and modernization efforts within the VPA. His contributions were recognized with numerous awards and decorations. He was considered a pivotal figure in the post-war development and reform of the Vietnamese military.
