Zero (2012 film)

Zero is a 2012 American short film directed by David Victori. The film is a science fiction drama set in a world where life has become a limited resource, measured and rationed at birth. Each person is assigned a numerical value at birth, representing their allotted years.

The story follows Samuel, born with a very low life quota, who falls in love with Eva, a woman born with a high quota. Their relationship is complicated by the system and the social implications of their unequal life expectancies. The film explores themes of love, sacrifice, and the value of life in a dystopian future.

Zero won the YouTube Your Film Festival in 2012, judged by Ridley Scott, which propelled Victori's career. The short film served as a proof of concept for a potential feature-length adaptation.
