William Walker (Iowa politician)
William Walker (1804 – 1866) was an American politician who served as a Democratic member of the Iowa House of Representatives.
Biography
William Walker was born in Pennsylvania in 1804. He migrated to Iowa, settling in Dubuque County. Walker engaged in farming and also worked as a lead miner.
Political Career
Walker represented Dubuque County in the Iowa House of Representatives during the 4th General Assembly (1852-1854). His service occurred during a period of rapid growth and development in Iowa, as the state transitioned from frontier territory to a more settled agricultural and industrial landscape. Records of his specific legislative contributions are limited.
Death
William Walker died in Dubuque County in 1866.
