Wednesday Week (band)

Wednesday Week was an American power pop band formed in Los Angeles, California, in 1982. The band's lineup consisted of Kristi Callan (vocals, guitar), Kelly Callan (bass, vocals), Heidi Callan (guitar, vocals), and David Buchanan (drums). They are primarily known for their melodic songwriting, catchy hooks, and harmonious vocals, often drawing comparisons to other bands of the Paisley Underground movement, although they weren't officially part of it.

Wednesday Week released several EPs and albums throughout the 1980s, including "Better Days" (1985) and "Yeah, Yeah, Yeah, Yeah" (1987). "Yeah, Yeah, Yeah, Yeah" is arguably their best-known work. Their music garnered attention on college radio stations and within the independent music scene. While not achieving mainstream commercial success, they built a dedicated following and are remembered for their contribution to the power pop genre.

The band eventually dissolved, with members pursuing other musical projects. However, their music has continued to be appreciated by fans of 1980s power pop, and their recordings have been reissued and rediscovered over time. The band's legacy lies in their crafted pop sensibilities and their ability to blend catchy melodies with introspective lyrics.
