Wayne Simpson (ice hockey)
Wayne Simpson (born January 27, 1990) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player. He is currently an unrestricted free agent. Simpson most recently played for the Adler Mannheim of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL).
Simpson played junior hockey in the Maritime Junior Hockey League (MHL) with the Woodstock Slammers and the Summerside Western Capitals. He then played four seasons of NCAA Division I hockey with Union College, where he won the 2011-12 NCAA Men's Ice Hockey Championship.
Following his collegiate career, Simpson turned professional and has played in the American Hockey League (AHL) with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers, Rochester Americans, and Bakersfield Condors. He has also spent time in the ECHL with the Stockton Thunder and the Ontario Reign.
Simpson has primarily been a scoring forward at all levels, known for his offensive abilities and playmaking skills. He signed his first European contract in 2017, playing for Brynäs IF of the Swedish Hockey League (SHL). He has since played in multiple European leagues, including the DEL.
Throughout his career, Simpson has demonstrated consistent offensive production and adaptability to various leagues and roles.
