Walter Phipps (cricketer)

Walter Phipps (born 27 February 1854, died 23 April 1937) was an English first-class cricketer who played for Gloucestershire County Cricket Club between 1877 and 1887. A right-handed batsman and occasional right-arm slow bowler, Phipps appeared in 67 first-class matches, scoring 1,567 runs at an average of 15.82, with a highest score of 64. He took one wicket in his career. He was born in Clifton, Bristol and died in Tetbury, Gloucestershire.
