Trzebnice

Trzebnica is a town in Lower Silesian Voivodeship, southwestern Poland. It is the administrative seat of Trzebnica County and Gmina Trzebnica. Located about 20 kilometers (12 mi) north of Wrocław, the town is historically part of Lower Silesia.

Trzebnica is known for its Basilica of St. Hedwig, a major pilgrimage site and one of the most significant examples of Romanesque architecture in Poland. The basilica houses the relics of St. Hedwig of Silesia, the patron saint of Silesia, who founded a Cistercian monastery there in the 13th century. The monastery played a vital role in the town's development and history.

Historically, Trzebnica was part of Silesia and subject to various rulers, including the Piast dynasty of Poland, the Kingdom of Bohemia, the Habsburg monarchy, and Prussia. Following World War II, it became part of Poland.

The town's economy is primarily based on agriculture, small-scale industry, and services.
