Tony White (American football)
Tony White is an American college football coach. He is currently the defensive coordinator and linebackers coach at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
White's coaching career includes stops at Arizona State University, Syracuse University, and University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He served as the defensive coordinator at Syracuse University from 2020-2022, where he oversaw significant improvements in the Orange's defense. Prior to Syracuse, he held various defensive coaching positions at Arizona State University, including defensive coordinator and linebackers coach.
White played college football at UCLA as a linebacker. He was a team captain for the Bruins and earned All-Pac-10 honors. He was drafted by the Washington Redskins in the 2005 NFL Draft. After his playing career, he transitioned into coaching, beginning as a graduate assistant at UCLA. His coaching philosophy emphasizes aggressive play and creating turnovers. He is known for his 3-3-5 defense scheme.
