Tomiño
Tomiño is a municipality located in the province of Pontevedra, in the autonomous community of Galicia, Spain. Situated in the southwest of the province, it forms part of the Baixo Miño comarca (district).
Tomiño borders Portugal to the south, with the Miño River serving as the natural boundary between the two countries. Its geographical location makes it a trans-border region, influenced by both Spanish and Portuguese cultures.
The economy of Tomiño is largely based on agriculture, particularly the cultivation of wine grapes, vegetables, and livestock farming. Increasingly, tourism also plays a role, drawing visitors to the area's natural beauty, including the Miño River, the surrounding countryside, and proximity to beaches.
Administratively, Tomiño is divided into several parishes (parroquias in Galician). The town of Tomiño serves as the municipal capital. The area is known for its Galician language and cultural traditions.
