Toby Beau
Toby Beau was an American soft rock band popular in the late 1970s. The band was formed in Texas and achieved their greatest success with the 1978 hit single "My Angel Baby," which reached the top 20 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The song is characterized by its mellow sound and smooth harmonies.
The group consisted of Balde Silva (lead vocals, guitar), Ernie McElveen (guitar, vocals), Danny Weir (keyboards, vocals), Steve Ross (bass, vocals), and Rob Young (drums).
While "My Angel Baby" remained their only major hit, Toby Beau continued to release music and tour throughout the late 1970s and early 1980s. Their other singles and albums achieved moderate success, but none matched the popularity of their signature song. The band eventually disbanded, with members pursuing individual musical endeavors. Toby Beau is largely remembered as a one-hit wonder act of the soft rock era, best known for "My Angel Baby."
