Tjølling
Tjølling was a former municipality in Vestfold county, Norway. It was established as a municipality on January 1, 1838 (see formannskapsdistrikt law). It was merged with the municipality of Larvik on January 1, 2017.
Geography: Tjølling was located south of Larvik proper, along the coast of the Oslofjord. The landscape is characterized by both coastal areas and agricultural land.
History: The area has a rich history, with evidence of human settlement dating back to the Stone Age. Tjølling Church is a medieval stone church, dating back to the 12th century and is a significant historical landmark in the area. Viking Age burial mounds are also found in the region.
