The Indian Tomb (1959 film)

The Indian Tomb is a 1959 adventure film directed by Fritz Lang. It is the second of two films comprising a single narrative, the first being The Tiger of Eschnapur (1959). Both films are based on the novel Das indische Grabmal by Thea von Harbou, Lang's former wife.

The film continues the story begun in The Tiger of Eschnapur. The German architect Harald Berger, along with the temple dancer Seetha and her husband Chandra, must navigate treacherous political intrigue, navigate dangerous traps within the titular tomb, and ultimately decide the fate of the kingdom of Eschnapur.

The plot revolves around Chandra's desire for revenge against Berger and Seetha for their perceived betrayal. The film features lavish sets and costumes typical of adventure films of the period and continues the themes of exoticism, fate, and the clash between Eastern and Western cultures explored in the first film.
