The House of Lies (1916 film)

The House of Lies is a 1916 American silent drama film directed by William Desmond Taylor and starring Edna Goodrich, Juanita Hansen, and Howard Davies. The film tells the story of Elsie Desmond (Goodrich), who becomes entangled in the machinations of a wealthy and corrupt family. She is coerced into posing as the wife of Jack Munroe (Davies) to protect the family's reputation and financial interests, leading to a web of deceit and ultimately, tragedy.
