The album was produced by Tom Lord-Alge. It features a blend of rock, folk, and Americana influences, and is known for its introspective lyrics and focus on themes of family, growth, and navigating life's challenges. Several songs from the album received significant airplay on adult alternative radio stations. The album was supported by a national tour.
