Tendrils (band)
Tendrils was an American instrumental progressive metal band formed in Madison, Wisconsin, in 2007. The band's sound was characterized by complex arrangements, heavy riffs, and a focus on dynamic shifts and melodic interludes, drawing comparisons to bands like Russian Circles, Pelican, and Cult of Luna.
Tendrils released two full-length albums: Tendrils (2010) and Serpentine (2013), both of which were critically well-received within the instrumental metal community. The band toured regionally and shared the stage with notable acts in the genre.
The band's lineup consisted of guitarists Matt Tennessen and Jon Miner, bassist Jason Landers, and drummer Joe Wong. Internal conflicts and diverging musical interests led to the band's dissolution in 2015. Despite their relatively short lifespan, Tendrils developed a devoted following and are remembered for their intricate compositions and powerful live performances.
