Sun Jun (badminton)

Sun Jun (born May 2, 1975, in Nanjing, Jiangsu, China) is a retired Chinese badminton player, considered one of the most dominant singles players of the late 1990s and early 2000s. He was a key member of the Chinese national badminton team during that period.

Sun Jun's career highlights include winning the 1999 World Badminton Championships men's singles title in Copenhagen, defeating Peter Gade in the final. He also achieved success at the All England Open Badminton Championships, winning the title in 1999. Furthermore, he was a member of the Chinese team that won the Thomas Cup (men's team championship) several times.

Known for his exceptional athleticism, tactical intelligence, and powerful attacking game, Sun Jun was a formidable opponent for any player.
