Steve Cohen (judoka)
Steve Cohen (born June 28, 1955) is an American judoka. He is best known for representing the United States at the 1972 and 1976 Summer Olympics in Judo.
Cohen began practicing judo at a young age. He quickly rose through the ranks, earning a spot on the U.S. Olympic team at just 17 years old for the 1972 Munich Games. At the 1976 Montreal Olympics, he competed again in the open weight division.
Beyond the Olympics, Cohen achieved success in other international judo competitions. He earned medals at various prestigious tournaments and helped to popularize judo in the United States. After his competitive career, Cohen continued to be involved in judo as a coach and instructor, sharing his knowledge and passion for the sport with future generations of judokas.
