Spring Valley is a town in St. Croix County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 728 at the 2000 census. The Village of Spring Valley is located within the town.

Geography

According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 34.9 square miles (90.3 km²), of which, 34.9 square miles (90.3 km²) of it is land and 0.03% is water.

Demographics

As of the census of 2000, there were 728 people, 259 households, and 208 families residing in the town. The population density was 20.9 people per square mile (8.1/km²). There were 266 housing units at an average density of 7.6 per square mile (2.9/km²). The racial makeup of the town was 99.31% White, 0.14% African American, 0.14% Native American, 0.14% Asian, and 0.27% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.69% of the population.

There were 259 households out of which 37.1% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 69.9% were married couples living together, 4.3% had a female householder with no husband present, and 19.7% were non-families. 16.6% of all households were made up of individuals and 5.8% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.81 and the average family size was 3.16.

In the town, the population was spread out with 29.5% under the age of 18, 6.9% from 18 to 24, 27.7% from 25 to 44, 24.3% from 45 to 64, and 11.5% who were 65 years of age or older.
