Simon Wright (politician)

Simon Wright (born 12 January 1972) is a British Liberal Democrat politician. He served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Norwich South from 2010 to 2015.

Born in Taunton, Somerset, Wright was educated at Queen's College, Taunton and the University of Edinburgh, where he studied Social Policy. Before entering parliament, he worked in public affairs and communications, primarily for charities and non-profit organisations, including Christian Aid.

Wright was elected to Parliament in 2010, defeating the Labour incumbent Charles Clarke. During his time in Parliament, he served on the Education Select Committee. He also campaigned on local issues affecting Norwich South, including transport infrastructure and environmental concerns.

In the 2015 general election, Wright lost his seat to Clive Lewis of the Labour Party. After leaving Parliament, he took on roles in the voluntary sector.
