SS Ismore
The SS Ismore was a cargo steamship built in 1907 by William Doxford & Sons of Sunderland, England. She was owned by the Johnston Line, a British shipping company. The Ismore primarily operated on routes between the United Kingdom and ports in the Mediterranean and North Africa.
Her fate is recorded as having been torpedoed and sunk on September 17, 1917, during World War I. She was struck by a torpedo from the German submarine U-53 approximately 120 nautical miles west-southwest of Fastnet Rock, Ireland. Several crew members were lost in the sinking.
